This a recorded, self-paced version of the workshop I recently hosted on the Venus Star Point cycle completion as well as the Mercury-Mars-Venus conjunction and cazimi evolving from the Full Moon on 3 January through 10 January 2026. I ran out of time to cover many of the things I wanted to talk about, including a reading of the Stonewall Riots chart, and felt called to share it in this way.
I think the medicine so many of need most of all right now is connection—to our bodies, their deep knowing, and our hidden parts of self; to each other; to the larger forces that echo our experience, enveloping us in their ensouled embrace. But the energies involved in these connections can feel overwhelming, and so many of the themes I see resounding are about negotiating boundaries.
Giving and Receiving
The full moon in Cancer that kicked off the current cycle we’re currently aspected Jupiter, the planet of expansion, making our big feelings about the ways we nurture ourselves, care for our bodies, love and mother ourselves and each other, even bigger. It’s opposing a giant pileup of personal planets and asteroids in Capricorn, the current season and the sign of discipline, determination, and decisionmaking; of setting limits to facilitate the coming harvest or growth, depending on your hemisphere. Either place, it’s a pause of sorts: Capricorn starts the winter in the Northern Hemisphere; in the Southern, it’s summer, yet marks the slow march toward darkness with each shortening day. Right now, not only the Sun but Venus, Mars, Mercury, and the asteroids Vesta and Juno are all crammed in there together, whether jostling for the light or hiding from its heat.
And Venus’ placement there marks the culmination of the Venus Star Point cycle, an eight-year journey through the sky wherein she bobs and weaves with the Sun and Moon, speeding up and slowing down, trading dance partners and touching into five different signs to form a giant pentagram in the sky. So they go, and so they go, with Venus returning to almost the exact same points in each cycle completion—only 1-2° behind the previous position. Right now, those touchpoints are Gemini, Leo, the Scorpio-Leo cusp, the Pisces/Aries cusp—and Capricorn. So the planet of love, pleasure, partnership, connection itself completes a pilgrimage in the sign of limitation, while packed into the house with Mars, the initiator and warrior, who may instigate Venus’ own warrior impulse or clash with it, depending on the house and other aspects in your chart, as well as Juno—the mythical wife of Zeus often scorned, representing partnership and betrayal, fairness and balance, intolerant of inequality—and Vesta, who almost turns those qualities inward, signifying devotion and commitment required to achieve a cause that can become a purity campaign (priestxs in ancient Greek temples known as Vestal Virgins stayed chaste so they could channel the divine more clearly).
So Mercury the trans messenger, the one who could move between the realms of gods and mortals, upperworld and underworld, is passing messages about partnership between the parents on either side of the Sun, trying not to get burned, while dedication to oneself and to others sit at opposite ends of the sign of the borders that enable foresight. It’s a lot of energy to negotiate, if necessary to mature and move forward. And again, it impacts all of us in a different area of life, depending on the house Capricorn coincides with in your chart and other aspects, or interactions, the planets in this house are making with those in the sky. Some of these transiting planets are also interacting with the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, demonstrative of the dance between dream and structure, material and spiritual, the planets that represent these very energies moving slowly from the sign of dreams and the metaphysical into go-getter Aries.
Where do we want and need to give and receive? How can we negotiate the urge to merge with necessary limits? Is it time to initiate or let creativity slowly wind and flow? Do we need to lean into the feeling and flow or are we getting swept away? These are all questions I think we are being called to ask in this moment.
